What is the difference between training and competency assessment?

 Training develops a worker’s knowledge and skills. For higher-risk supports, the NDIS Practice Standards may also require workers to demonstrate that they can perform the support safely and competently. Practical competency assessment provides evidence of this capability in addition to completing training. 

How far in advance should workplace training be booked?

Booking as early as possible provides the best choice of dates and delivery options. Timeframes depend on the program, number of staff, delivery format and trainer availability.

What training records and reports will our organisation receive?

Records depend on the program and may include attendance records, certificates, statements of attainment for accredited training and competency assessment records. By prior arrangement, medication management and complex healthcare programs may also include additional governance reporting to support organisational oversight and evidence alignment with relevant NDIS Practice Standards.
